Book Study, Searching for Sunday by Rachel Held Evans
Saturday, July 27th, 9:30 a.m., at Beans in the Belfry in Brunswick, MD
Pastor Charlie (South Mountain Shared Ministry) will be hosting a table side book study and discussion of the book, Searching for Sunday.
This is a great opportunity to meet Pastor Charlie, to discuss the author's perspective of modern church life, and to enjoy a conversation in a venue that is a hidden treasure in downtown Brunswick, MD.
Goodreads describes this book by the author, Rachel Held Evans' personal reflection where she shares her experiences.
"Like millions of her millennial peers, Rachel Held Evans didn't want to go to church anymore. The hypocrisy, the politics, the gargantuan building budgets, the scandals--church culture seemed so far removed from Jesus. Yet, despite her cynicism and misgivings, something kept drawing her back to Church. And so she set out on a journey to understand Church and to find her place in it."
